The Manager: Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the establishment and running of a centre of excellence focused on project management. The main purpose of the Project Management Office (PMO) is to make sure that projects and programmes of projects are run in a repeatable and standardized way. The PMO manager strives to achieve this purpose by determining and establishing best practices in terms of project management methodologies and processes. They oversee all projects and ensure adherence to governance standards

Requirements:

  • Operational and well-functioning Office of Project Management in TSAM IT
  • Established organizational project management capability with project managers displaying required level of proficiency
  • Established best practices project management processes, methodologies, practices, tools, and templates defined, deployed and adopted
  • IT projects that form part of the IT Project Portfolio completed in time, on budget and with the resources allocated
  • Insights and analytics on project progress, business benefits of projects and project dependencies.
  • Compliance with internal and external audit, governance and security requirements including SOX, Popia and ITGC
  • Agile product delivery and agile knowledge base amongst the team and develop Agile roles
  • Responsible for managing the MLTP (Mid-to-Long-Term-Plan) – IT’s 3 to 5 year plan
  • Coaching project managers on both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
  • Ensuring that all activities adhere to SOX and general TSAM governance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 10 to 12 years general work experience with at least 10 years relevant experience in project administration, project management and programme management.
  • Experience as a scrum master and coaching Agile teams

Five or more of the following certifications are required: 

  • IPMO – Practitioner Level Certification
  • IPMO – Expert Level Certification
  • Professional Scrum Master L3
  • SAFe Practitioner
  • PgPM – Programme Management Professional
  • Portfolio Management Professional
  • TT-IPMO (Techniques & Tools)
  • SC – IPMO (Services & Capabilities)
  • CF – IPMO (Consulting Frameworks)
  • PMOs in an Agile Environment
  • Dashboards for PMOs and PMs
  • PMO/PM methodology selection and tailoring
  • Design thinking for innovative PMOs
  • Governance for PPPs and PMOs
  • Agile Certified
  • Prince2
