As an Avaya Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the information technology (IT) support of our business. You will provide IT technical support to all teams within the organisation and ensure that they have access to their devices and data wherever they are in the world. You’ll be able to build strong relationships with colleagues from other departments to share knowledge or solve problems as a team. You should also be comfortable working under pressure, as your work may involve managing multiple projects at once.


  • 6 – 8 years’ work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience required in Avaya Telephony administration as a Senior Support Engineer within a medium to large ICT organisation
  • Working knowledge of technical documentation and experience in co-ordination with TAC
  • Expert knowledge on management Avaya concepts, Solution concepts and Contract Centre architecture within the supported technical domain (i.e., Network, Virtualisation, Security, etc)
  • Diagnostic skills in hardware and software products.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-disciplined with good time management skills.
  • Fault analysis / troubleshooting skills; be able to read & interpret technical documentation.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Customer focus with good attention to detail.
  • Have initiative and be a team player.
  • Fully competent on the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Driver’s licence and own transport.

Formal Qualification

  • Minimum NQF 7 (360 points)
  • Minimum of 3 product implementation and 2 Support and Maintenance certifications
